How Can I Participate?
1.) Sign up as a team or individual walker to receive a team or individual pledge package. 2.) Volunteer at the AIDS Walk or other events by contacting Carmen or Brahm at 250-505-5506 or aids-walk@ankors.bc.ca.
3.) Attend ANKORS AIDS Walk events, which will be hosted at various locations throughout the summer.

AIDS Walk For Life 2011
What is the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life/ Marche Action SIDA Banque Scotia? The Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life is a National Fundraising campaign to support local AIDS organizations in over 120 communities across Canada. 100% of the funds raised by the AIDS Walk for Life in the Kootenay Boundary are used by Kootenay Boundary residents through ANKORS.
When is the AIDS Walk for Life? The 17th annual AIDS Walk for Life will be held on Saturday, September 17th, 2011. Registration will be from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, and the Walk will begin at exactly 12 pm.
Where is the West Kootenay Boundary AIDS Walk for Life held? The AIDS Walk is held in Nelson, and begins at the corner of Hall and Baker, in the parking lot between Sidewinders and Gerrick's Cycle and Sport. The Walk follows a route through Nelson, down Front St, and along the waterfront to Lakeside Park Rotary Shelter (approximately three kilometers). The day will commence with a BBQ lunch.
Where does my AIDS Walk for Life contribution go?
Your contributions are used exclusively by HIV positive residents of the West Kootenay/Boundary region to help pay for medical costs related to HIV. For example, our funds can offset travel and fees to see HIV specialists, or subsidize nutritional supplements or dental work.
Strap on your sneakers, bring your skateboard or ride your bike. Everyone is welcome to join in the event. You don't need to collect pledges to show your support and join in the walk.
